The wooden poles, which are over 8 meter long and weight ca. 80 kg are decorated with flowers and are carried through the township during a festive and religious procession. The gathering of the flowers and the binding of them starts months before. These showpieces are carried in the course of a memorial about the plague of locusts. These event is celebrated every year in june on the birthday of John the Baptist, who is the patron saint of the church in Zederhaus.
